Constantly Unwell

AIBU to ask for your help in figuring out what's wrong with me or remedies/suggestions to boost my immune system?

I have a doctors appointment booked for tomorrow and blood tests but they always ask what I think it could be (did on the phone today).

Over the past 2/3 months I am constantly unwell with fever mostly. Pretty much a week on, week off. Fever, tiredness, fatigue. I recover and have a 4/5 good days of feeling normal then it wipes me out again.

I can't figure out if I'm picking up constant bugs and I need to improve my immune system or something else is going on???
Work is suffering. Kids/house/life are all suffering.
I'm taking all the short cuts - cleaner, online shopping etc etc. But it only goes so far when you are constantly behind on everything.

Help and advise please?

Maybe you just need antibiotics and you're not fully recovering in-between.

Have you considered long COVID?

Astrak · 12/07/2023 12:03

Have you considered that you might have Myalgic Encephalitis?
I have lived with this (literally) tiresome disorder for the last two years. I have found that it's manageable, now that I don't ignore it and try to just power through.
There's a lot of information on the Internet.

Long covid?

Have you considered recurrent fever syndrome?

Best to see the doc - obviously you said you are - after years of not wanting to bother them and trying to help myself, it’s just too much of a minefield. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease at Christmas and in that case you really DONT want to boost your immune system, even though it seems like a good idea on the surface. So just goes to show…! I had to stop taking a superfoods supplement thing the other day because I realised it had something immune boosting in and I was flaring up.

Wait for results of the blood test. If it doesn't show any issues then perhaps you should consider mental illness such as depression. 💙
