To feel guilty being signed off work

I’m feeling really poorly, and have felt like this for weeks. I have had a multitude of viruses making me ill since baby has been in nursery and I’ve gone back to work full time. I’m in a very stressful job and it’s impacting my work as I feel so ill. My resilience is very low. I don’t get to rest in between work so I’ve just been getting on with it but I’m just really run down now. I’m absolutely exhausted.

I went to the GP to get bloods done and he’s signed me off work as he says I need rest which I do need.
Should I take the time off and get sleep while baby is at nursery? Or does it look really bad to go sick two months after returning from maternity. I feel guilty as work is very busy.

As a manager I’d say take the time off & rest & recuperate. There’s no point being at work, doing half a job. You need to drop something at the moment & that can’t be family. Work will still be there.
