I can’t be the only person that has started seeing AI mentioned frequently in news articles the past few months? I don’t know whether to be petrified of it (scams, if it starts turning against humans?!?) or counting down the days until it’s literally taking care of us all like some kind of iJesus (gene therapies, humans not working as much, curing cancer)
Many of the mentions about it I see are speaking as though its not new tech which I know it’s been talked about a lot hypothetically and has been around for a while in some industries but suddenly there’s now Deep fake AI videos of people speaking words they never said (the Martin Lewis scam) or AI design concepts/ fashion shows popping up on my Insta feed that look other worldly or not quite human/real? It’s hard to explain but the images I’ve seen invoke an odd feeling where you recognise it but there’s something about it not quite right..or human?
This sudden arrival feels rushed, if tech leaders are as concerned then perhaps it’s not something that should be widely available at such an early stage of development? I wouldn’t be surprised to see it being used everywhere within months because the difference between AI and non AI in some fields will soon be like comparing an iPhone to some yogurt pots on a string.
Sorry for the kooky ramble hopefully I’m not the only one. Are there any techies out there to reassure me my iPad isn’t going to start plotting to kill me just because I haven’t done the latest iOS update? 🤣🙏🏻
