one dc age 2. We’ve tried alternative lie ins but I can still hear ds. Our house isn’t even small and I am also disturbed when ds wakes anyway and then I can’t get back to sleep. Same for DP.

Due to dp’s shift pattern it’s difficult to even arrange a day to ourselves. So for example I might get one afternoon every couple of weeks but even then it’s not really enough to switch off.

Is this just me? I love love love ds but I honestly feel like my whole life was given up when I had him. I guess it’s supposed to be like that in some respects but we have no family support and every day just feels the same.

Alternate lie ins. Parent with child takes child to room downstairs at opposite end of house to your bedroom and keeps them contained there while you sleep, no running around the whole length of the house (make sure you have enough toys books etc in there). Put white noise on to help drown out any other noises (and also helps me get back to sleep personally). Black out curtains in bedrooms and keep the lights down low when you do get up with him. Works for us!
