Is this inconsiderate? Neighbours

Ifwallscouldtalk · 09/07/2023 13:00

Neighbours were outside the front at midnight last night, talking and laughing very loudly.

They must have had people round or all came back from a night out and were out the front for half an hour shrieking with laughter. Sounded like there were several people.

It's hot here so windows were open, woke us all up.

Inconsiderate or am I being a misery?

They should take it inside after 11

Inconsiderate. My mum's neighbours are like this, then they let their kids out to shriek and scream at 7. Not sure they're aware that they don't actually live in a detached house in the middle of nowhere without neighbours.

One thing that has woken me up has been an electric car reversing multiple times with a beeping type noise in the middle of the night. Engine noise would have just been normal background noise but this was unusual so woke me up.

Annoying. My neighbours (lovely) do the opposite and I know for sure they don't realise, but they occasionally have full on loud conversations on their drive at 6am. Male neighbour has a fog horn level voice so it wakes us up when the windows are open. They are pensioners and early risers and I think they just assume every one is the same! I let it go as they are otherwise fantastic.

It’s inconsiderate but if it’s a one off and a weekend then I’d put it down to “that’s life with neighbours isn’t it”

One day they might be noisy at night, another day your child might be shrieking in the garden at 8am before you can stop; another day you might set off your fire alarm burning the toast and then do it again by accident a few more times cos the toaster hasn’t been cleaned properly etc etc etc - all that would be annoying so be careful before you say anything!

another day your child might be shrieking in the garden at 8am

At least that is in daytime hours of 7am to 11pm
