Getting energy back after virus

I’ve had a virus in the last couple of weeks and still feeling shattered from it, so frustrating as I’ve rested properly but still got zero energy. Is this normal? How is the best way to try and get some energy back?

Yes this is normal, look up 'post viral fatigue'.

The most important thing to do is pace yourself, although it is frustrating DO NOT try to push your body more than it is ready to do, this will just lengthen your recovery time.

Do things 'little and often' and schedule in time for rest.

Hopefully you will get back to normal in a month or so (unless it is long covid?)

Post viral fatigue is well documented but I don't believe there is a quick way to get your energy back, sorry. It's usually just the usual things of eating healthily, resting as much as possible and looking after yourself. It often comes back by itself but if not your GP can do blood tests to see if the is any underlying issue.
I have had this for 18 months and it's horrible. I hope you feel better soon.

Yes, it is the bodies way of recovering. There is a trend that people who are very busy in their lives tend to suffer more (single mums, people who do intense amounts of exercise), but it can happen to anyone.
