Modern play parks

Is this a think all over the UK or just in our city?

So basically … remember when parks used to have swings, slides, seesaws and climbing frames? Well not anymore! All the new parks I’ve tried taking my grandaughter too lately are absolutely shit.

Park 1: no swings, no slides, no seesaws. Instead just a rectangle thing on springs, random shapes just sat there and a big metal bowl type thing that doesn’t spin … you presumably just sit in it?!

park 2: a set of 2 swings, no toddler swings. A small climbing thing that has a climbing wall up one side and a very small slide on the other side. More random shapes, a pole thing stuck in the ground with a foot platform on it but it doesn’t spin or do anything?!

Park 3: no swings, 3 giant rocks on the ground, a big bowl that again doesn’t do anything, a weird stick up shape thing with a ring big enough for a toddler to sit in but it doesn’t do anything!?

why can’t they just have swings and slides etc?!

We have normal parks here, plenty of swings, slides and climbing frames, though roundabouts aren’t so common.
Ours are all quite old, though decently maintained so maybe that’s it.

Yeah we live on a new build estate and the park here is strange. Although we do have a slide. They have a basketball net, those weird shapes on springs that you sit on, a small climbing wall, and some round wooden logs on the ground to walk across. It’s shit.
