I usually buy the Lidl version, but DS went to Asda this week and bought real Cornettos.

They're very poor in comparison....

I haven't had the Lidl version, but I've noticed the real ones are smaller this year.
Smaller in size but not in price of course.

They totally are. We had them recently (the real ones) and they were tiny and the ice cream was sugary and the supposed toffee flavour was Indistinguishable. Would totally go for a cheaper alternative now they can’t be worse!

I had a strawberry one recently - I was really looking forward to it, but it didn't taste as nice as I hoped.

The real Cornettos are rubbish. Asda's own make are better

Rubyupbeat · 08/07/2023 22:18

I like the soft cornettos, really creamy. Not had an original type one for years.

Jobreveal · 08/07/2023 22:19

Tesco's own are nice.

PostboxTopper · 08/07/2023 22:20

Co-op unicones are delicious

Tilyoufindyourdream · 08/07/2023 22:25

Literally just eaten a Lidl version Cornetto! Absolutely love them, in particular the strawberry ones and honeycomb ones. Not had a Walls one for years and wouldn’t bother now.

Chickenpastabowl · 08/07/2023 22:29

Tesco salted caramel are nice.

PhilomenaShitpeas · 08/07/2023 22:32

No, they’re not. They’re really not.

The trick is in clasping the bottom of the cone until the end - then you get that lovely melty mouthful of chocolate.

hopsalong · 08/07/2023 22:35

I think it's that the Lidl ones (especially mint!) are really good. Much better than normal cornettos ever were, with the green/brown swirl combo, and very cheap!

And while we are on this subject, Lidl’s version of magnums (half the price?) are way nicer than actual magnums. Actual magnums taste of fake oil and, yet, strangely, oblige me to always eat more than one. Lidl’s version taste better, somehow less processed?!, and I only ever eat one. There really is something evil about regular magnums. Interested to read that lidls Cornettos are better too.
