When should you worry about braxton hicks?

Hello

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and have had an mildly upset stomach this morning, feel sick, have back ache and keep having sporadic braxton hicks sometimes really intense and uncomfortable and sometimes really mild, not in a regular pattern ie I can have 2 in 10 minutes and then nothing for half an hour or more.

Also I have been getting braxton hicks on and off for about 4 weeks so these aren't unusual for me it was just with the other symptoms.

I have bad health anxiety brought on by pregnancy which i dont think is helping and also don't want to waste anyone's time.

Does this just sound like braxton hicks? Am I supposed to contact anyone?

My husband has an afternoon out planned today (a well deserved and long planned one) so im supposed to be looking after our 6 year old and don't want to ruin his day either.

Phone your maternity unit/pregnancy triage unit - they'll be best placed to decide whether you need checked over or if it sounds normal. Sending hugs 🥰

Also, my midwife always says they would much rather you call if you're concerned. It's not going to annoy or inconvenience them so please don't ever feel like you're making a fuss. Better to put your mind at rest if nothing else!

Hi, I would contact triage. Also would suggest timing frequency so you can provide specific details. Good luck!

I think you should call triage and detail all your symptoms, let them decide. Better safe than sorry. I also have health anxiety, it's a real bitch, but also you are pregnant, you are 'allowed' to be worried about your baby and yourself.

Subsequent babies it’s completely normal I’ve been like this for ten weeks now full term waiting, stomach muscles aren’t as strong as they are with your first.
