School Admissions cheats

Anyone else live in an area where parents (with money) blatantly cheat the system by renting flats near the school they want? This year everyone is talking about three families who have done it. Apart from being shocked about that, other parents in lower years are thinking 'cheaper than moving'. I'm sure someone must have reported them but they still have places. It's a mockery really

It has always happened. Sometimes they get caught, sometimes they don't. I feel sorry for the kids who get pulled out of their school when the parents get found out. If we had decent schools for all it wouldn't happen.

In our area there are 5-6 decent highs. This isn't even to avoid sink schools. This is about these parents preferences being seemingly more important than the ones they are stealing places off - who now aren't able to move up to their nearest high with mates. It's sending the message to just rent a flat if you can afford too.

If everyone leaves it to someone then no-one will do it.

ie If you know the names of the parents and you have reason to believe they have rented an address of convenience whilst still keeping their main home, then report it yourself.

The LA can investigate, and if it is a genuine move then fine, no harm done. If not then the LA can remove the places and give them to those that deserve them - those at the top of the waiting list who have been cheated out of them.
