Do sickness bugs do this?

Dd 14 months old has been sick a few times over the past few days. I'm unsure if it's a bug because she's so well in herself, playing happily and very cheerful. Just lost her appetite and 3 episodes of vomiting in 36 hours which isn't a lot by usual bug standards I guess.

But tonight I've had the most violent case of diarrhoea. Sorry for tmi but it was so sudden and so severe if I hadn't been at home and able to dash to the loo I probably would have had a very embarrassing accident.

Could this be the same bug just presenting differently in me? Does what causes sickness and vomiting in some cause diarrhoea in others? Or doesn't it work like that?

Bugs can present differently in each person. I would also say by previous experience that it is a bug but little ones don't always feel utterly awful like is adults do. Hope you all feel better soon.

It really can do this.
DH & DS hardly ever vomit, just the diarrhoea, whereas I get it both ends simultaneously, even if we are ill around the same time so the same bug has been passed between us. Nice.

Yep. A few years ago we got a bug on holiday. I was sick once but had diorrhea a lot, dh wasn't sick but had diorrhea, ds was sick twice and Dd was sick hundreds of times and almost needed hospital.

Yes, it's probably the same bug.

Yes this happened to us in January! DD only vomited, DH only diarrhoea and I hit the jackpot with both at the same time! God that was awful.

Yes they present differently. The DC passed a sickness bug between them and gave it to me and we were all slightly different with what we had.
