To think interviews are getting ridiculous

I've just had the first 2 interviews and have a third tomorrow for a role paying £10.60 an hour. I'm not sure why 3 separate interviews are needed! Plus a trial day before a decision is made. It's in childcare.

A few months ago I was interviewed at a school for an admin job, didn't get the job but the panel consisted of 4 people! Who am I supposed to be looking at? 4 is just ridiculous.

I don't disagree. Far too many steps these days. I'm surprised companies have the time and resources for endless rounds.

I interviewed with 5 different people for a school PA role Confused

Yes I'm surprised too!
5 at once?! Wow.

Yes over the top - my last 2 jobs - first one online, second in person offered at interview.

I agree! I and a couple of panel interviews a few years ago. Awful! Had to answer questions like tell us about a time a mistake was made and how you fixed it. Etc. I hadn’t worked in 6yrs at that point and really struggled for example after example and I had to answer! Did really badly but managed to get a job in the last one. My interview for the job I’m in now was an ex colleague asking if I was available, him sending my resume to the hiring manager then chatting about that with them and my availability when could I start. Good old days.

I agree too!
The amount of time some companies are spending on their staff being involved with recruitment is ridiculous!
They also must be paying a fortune for all these pre interview tests and pre recording a video of yourself answering their questions. They can't surely watch them all!
