I have started listening to podcasts when in the car/tube/train. I enjoy documentaries about unsolved murders, about business stories e.g. 'the making of...' or 'how Home Depot works', but also Ted Talks, stuff about skincare, and biographies.

I would love to hear any recommendations you have that fit the above. ANd if they don't but you absolutely love a podcast, please share that too. Thanks!

Casefile true crime is brilliant (and I love the Aussie voice). He covers crimes all over, not just in Aus.
Mens Rea also good - Irish presenter and mostly Irish crimes, but interesting.
The Boy in the Woods
Fairy Meadow
The Troubles Podcast - about the troubles in NI - very interesting
Overy my dead body
The wonderland murders
The shrink next door
In the dark (new yorker podcasts)
Ballarat's children

Forgotten Australia - some of the weirder/ less well known history of Aus
American Scandal
American History Tellers
Floodlines (the atlantic) - about Hurricane Katrina and the people of New Orleans

The Missing Crypto Queen
Tunnel 29
The ratline

The Commune - about an NZ cult
Inside the Tribe- about a US cult
Guru: the dark side of enlightenment

Help I Sexted My Boss is fun

Modern Outdoor Survival is a great podcast with some great topics. In the first series they go through the alphabet.

It's changed my thinking in a positive way and it's down to earth and funny. Ideal for outdoors people and family friendly.

West Cork is excellent for true crime fans
What Happened to Annie,
Love Louis Theroux, BBC Sounds and Spotify

Ditto Jon Ronson

The Tavistock

2nd The Witch Trials of JK Rowling and British Scandal.

Absolutely love Heavyweight, different story every episode. Really missing it at the moment.

I have very similar taste to @thebellagio

The Therapy Crouch is a rip off from Shagged Married Annoyed.

Whilst it sounds like a depressing topic, Griefcast is very good. Cariad Lloyd talks to people about loved ones they have lost and how grief affects us all differently. It’s obviously not a massively cheery topic but it can be very reassuring to listen to people who are at different stages of grief and there are lighter moments particularly with the other comedians she interviews.

Bad People is my favourite!

I cried when i listened to the last episode- I never expected it would ever end! I don't know how to replace it!!!

The Rest is Politics

Leading

The Newsagents (and The Newsagents USA)

All the Serial ones- I'm enjoying their latest, The Retrievals at the moment.

This American Life

British Scandal (and American Scandal)

Vanity Fair: Dynasty

Full Disclosure with James O'Brien

I don't like more than one presenter, to me there is too much banter and not enough information! I also like the episodes to be at least 40 minutes, this is to send me off to sleep at night, I use the timer on the app and it's great. I just use the free one that comes with Iphone. Purple icon.

True Crime Enthusiast. Great narrator, long stories well researched, the presenter has a way of commenting now and then that just hits the spot when you also think WTF? about a crime/murder. UK based cases.

They walk among us. Most know this one, although occasionally I have to speed up his voice!

The rest is politics (exception to one presenter, but worth it).

Murder mile true crime around London

Mens Rea Irish true crime, some very interesting cases that are new to me.

Unprecedented (about Boris Johnson shenanigans)

Oh don't, I still haven't listened to it as I can't face it. Their podcast got me through lockdown, and I have done many many runs to it too.

I like true crime podcasts.

Really recommend Believe in Magic on BBC Sounds. True crime but very different. I listened to it twice!

The Boy in the Woods, again BBC Sounds and very good.

Also enjoy They Walk Among Us although the guy has the strangest cadence to his speech which can be annoying.

Case File is similar but it's Aussie and good too.

I like in-depth investigations and no tedious chat.

Just binged Believe in Magic last night and this morning based on this rec. amazing! Had never heard of it!

I'm so pleased you enjoyed it! It's by far my fave podcast I've listened to and recommend it to everyone!

If you like Believe in Magic try sympathy pains. I'd forgotten about it until I started listening to magic.
