I was sleeping but also sort of half awake and I sort of remember my ear feeling a bit itchy- I tried to scratch it but forgot I’ve got extremely long acrylics at the moment. I woke up because I suddenly felt a horrible pain in my ear as if I had stabbed my finger in my ear too far. Ever since then it’s felt a bit achey and sore on that side but not agony, just an uncomfortable ache. It also hurts more to swallow it, although it feels like it’s my throat/ear that hurts.

im a bit concerned that I’ve accidentally burst my ear drum or something. My acrylics are about 12mm below my finger tip. I haven’t had any liquid running out of my ear and I can hear fine, so I’m assuming it’s more likely I’ve just given it a bit of a scratch/bump by sticking my acrylic in there?

I phoned local places in my area that do private ear services but they won’t see me because I’m under 25 and it’s an injury so they said it needs to be a doctors who checks it, so I’m waiting for that but it’s a very long wait to even get an appointment. just hoping someone on here knows a bit more about it and can offer any help/advice/knowledge/wisdom in the meantime.

TIA

Can you go to a minor injury unit? They treated my DP when he stupidly put the ear bud in too deep and the end came off 🤦🏻‍♀️
They are often quicker to be seen at. I wondered when you said itchy if something has crawled inside and stung you?
