AIBU to think Dan and Blair was the most utterly ludicrous pairing of the season?

Side note: the real love story should’ve been Rufus and Lily and it annoys me all the time it wasn’t.

Ross and Rachel were a deeply dysfunctional relationship. He was controlling, had anger issues, had spent most of his life putting her on a pedestal. I guarantee that within half an hour of the finale they'd have split up again.

Rachel and Joey just got each other. I'd say that they were the two friends who actually liked each other the most, and the only reason they had no sexual chemistry was because the writers nerfed it, because they weren't "endgame".

Anyway, I'm derailing the thread so shall leave it there!

I actually agree about Ross and Rachel - I never especially liked him and they really did a number on him.

But Joey and Rachel was ludicrous.

I remember back in the day that ‘spoiler alerts’ were only for shows that hadn’t aired. If it had aired or was fair game.

I watched the last episode last night. Its funny because I do remember feeling a bit deflated at the reveal of GG but on another rewatch I'm not that mad. I think at the time, it all felt rushed and they had fewer episodes and it felt like they just picked a name from a hat but I don't think anyone had the same motive.

I also forgot they used You've Got The Love in the finale, same as SATC - albeit the Florence cover.

@Jxtina86 I think it definitely makes sense that it's Dan. Equally would have made sense if it was Jenny if she was still in the show.

Dorota knew it all! Although she'd never have been so negative to Blair.

I'm on my yearly rewatch, up to season 4 at the moment.

I' m always sad that they ruined Rufus and Lily, there's was a real love story. But then they threw William in and brought Bart back to life and the horrible ivy appeared.

I hate that Lily stayed with William. He's an idiot. I also started to get annoyed that Blair and Chuck kept putting barriers in their own way. I mean, honestly, no-one else would have cared if they'd got together before making their mark on the world or whatever. It got to the point I was totally turned off by their storyline, as they kept on declaring their love and then walking away from each other. They were my favourites, though. Serena was just irritating.

They ruined Rufus's character. He ended up just moping around Lily's apartment and was then fooled by Ivy. I wish he'd opened an amazing art gallery and become more than a wet blanket.

And why, oh why, did they never just cast Georgina out in the street from their various private parties and things?! And for her to end up with Jack Bass?!?!

Anyway, back to GG. I loved Blair, the Yale interviews where she tries to copy Serena makes me cringe when I think of her kissing the Dean 🫣

I hated what they did to Lily and Rufus, they were perfect for each other!

I like to watch sometimes and point out to myself all the times it couldn't have been Dan 👀
