Speeding up things whilst watching

Sitting with DS watching a show as he's been off sick and he mentioned that it's too fast for him to understand

I always change the speed to 2x on Netflix and almost 2x on YouTube and get irritated (mildly) when I get voicenotes and can't speed them up ... I don't talk particularly fast but I just hate how slow things are when watching

Am I the only person who finds recorded viewing just too slow to sit through at normal pace? Like there's so much just silence or ummms and ahhhs

I can see the x2 on my tablet app but not on the TV, can you only speed it up on a tablet and not through the smart tv?

I play voice notes at 1.5x, but wouldn't with a tv show/film etc.

I listen to podcasts at 1.5, speed read unless I'm really savouring a good book, and fast forward through the bits of shows when they are not talking. If TV is at normal speed I am also on the internet and just listening to it. It's only a very occasional show that I will sit and watch carefully.

I find going to the cinema torturous as you can't speed it up, so generally don't go. Also get impatient when people don't get to the point when speaking.

I'm not sure why I do it, my mind hops around a lot and it just seems more efficient. I do have a lot of anxiety, and filling my brain quickly and constantly tends to keep the anxiety at bay.

I listen to audiobooks on x1.25 but x2 would be too fast!
