You've come onto a thread about a paedophile to be abusive to the OP. Your values are in the gutter. Believe me, I'm actually pleased that someone like yourself, so unable to do see the situation from any but your own, unusual perspective, is reduced to throwing around childish, meaningless insults.

I can't fathom where you get 'deranged' from. She's displaying common enough reaction to the news of a man getting away with child abuse images. That is the normal healthy reaction. Attacking her for this reaction just makes you look a bit, well, defensive on behalf of the perpetrator of these crimes.

But back to the actual issue; this jumped out at me;
“It’s very, very clear that she will forever more have to live with the shame and embarrassment that these offences bring upon someone".

From what I've learnt of this type of offender they don't have the same sense of shame and embarrasment that we'd have. Any sense of shame will be converted into additional sexual arousal. That is part of the paraphilia. It's laughable that defence thinks this will be a deterent to reoffending. It will be a lure.

Sheranovermytoes · 05/07/2023 19:41

Transgendered or not this person has contributed directly to the abuse of children. If the scum of the earth didn't download he abusive imaged in the first place, there would not be children suffering behind closed doors for the pleasure of these perverts. I'd bring back physical punishment for these people. When I'm having a bad time I go for a walk , bad time my arse. This person is just a common and garden nasty fucker.

Maddy70 · 05/07/2023 20:07

The magistrates have the evidence and extenuating circumstances jail sentences are not suitable for all better punishment /therapy may be available elsewhere

@Failingjuggler in an attempt to have some kind of reasonable discussion with you (I realise almost certainly impossible), I had a look at the CUP dictionary website. The definition they give is :

Meaning of deranged in English

deranged
adjective
UK /dɪˈreɪndʒd/ US /dɪˈreɪndʒd/
completely unable to think clearly or behave in a controlled way, especially because of mental illness:
a deranged criminal/mind/personality
to be mentally deranged
Synonym
crazed
Related word
derangement

None of this is applicable to the OP, and I think rather than repeatedly call the OP deranged it might be helpful if you tried to explain what it is about her posts that you consider to be "deranged".

I've done some more reading about the case due to this thread, and it does seem that the sentencing judge referred to the paedophile being trans as a factor in deciding not to send them to prison.

I seem over invested? On a thread about a convicted paedophile, where you've chosen to be abusive to a woman upset by a person found guilty of watching children being raped for fun? I would hope that any normal adult would be invested yes. Your behaviour on the other hand, is really disturbing.

Literally NOT lying, obviously a trans issue.

"A transgender woman caught with indecent images of children was spared jail after her case was delayed so a decision could be made on whether she should be housed in a male or female prison...."

It's gone to the Transgender Case Board so they can decide whether this man's feelings should be deemed more important than women prisoner's human rights, feelings and safety, and their privacy and dignity and respect for their mental health and rehabilitation prospects. Additionally, the human rights of the prison staff who'll be required to deal with him.

Do hope you're not still here. We're very very tired of women simping for men with lady feelz.

TooBigForMyBoots · 05/07/2023 23:50

WTF is the Transgender Case Board?

EmmaGrundyForPM · 06/07/2023 01:17

@Whatifitallgoesright I think the point being made is that, although this particular perpetrator is trans, loads of men get non custodial sentences for similar offences. So he's not being treated any more lightly just because he's trans.

The sentencing guidelines are a joke. There is no recognition that the people (the vast majority of whom are male) downloading/buying this horrendous stuff are fuelling child abuse.

I'm not sure how deranged it is to be very concerned about a paedophile not being given a sentence since it describes himself as a 'women'. Seems there are people out there willing to stand up for paedophiles if they describe themselves as 'trans'.

For the record @Failingjuggler as another poster said:

*"obviously a trans issue.

You can scream abuse at me as much as you want. The only person who deserves punishment or abusive comment is the person who sat down and watched hundreds of images of CHILDREN being abused and enjoyed it until 'it' was caught and given a non custodial sentence. CHILDREN are what matters here, not the feelings of the paedophile.

The reason it's a trans issue is that crime was committed by a trans and the 'transgender case board' decided on a punishment, so separate considerations for the trans perpetrator due to 'it' being trans. 'It' is beneath contempt and sick in the head. But you carry on supporting 'it' and abusing me for being concerned!

This is common where I live, the local paper is full of court reports of cases juts like this with no custodial sentence.

Thanks Florissante

I'm sure I'll be accused of transphobia by at least one poster here but this is wrong. Apart from the fact that crime is horrific crime stats are being skewed because apparently this piece of male bodied scum believes he is a woman and the system seems happy to take his word for it.

This is my concern.

  1. That a paedophile was given special consideration by the transgender board so not looked at in the same way.
  2. That the offender was listed as a 'woman' rather than under 'its' biological sex of male - this means that more crimes are being shown as by women when they are not committed by women.
  3. I'm also concerned that people will stick up for anything if the person says they are 'trans'. Even paedophilia.

All crimes of this nature are sick. Whether by a man who says he is a man or a man who feels he is a woman. The problem is hiding behind 'trans' and pretending this was a woman's crime, being listed as a women's crime and not be sentenced to prison because the transgender board looked at it separately to a crime committed by a man (which is was).

You don't seem to understand how sentencing for crimes (all crimes) works in this country.

An offenders mental state is taken into account where appropriate. For example, someone in the grip of psychosis who is a first time offender (for any crime) is unlikely to repeat that when they are in a healthy state of mind. Therefore prison is not necessarily the correct sentence, as they may be helped more effectively by proper treatment, and the risk to the public is low.

The sentencing would be different for a persistent offender who has no history of mental health difficulties.

I’m not talking about sentencing, I’m talking about YOU acting as if some kind of self diagnosed ‘dark place’ is an excuse for looking at children being raped. Can you link to studies which clarify which mental health problems lead to a desire to wank off over children being tortured and raped? Why don’t those conditions seem to take hold of women? What health conditions make a man do that?
You seem to think your very wise on this topic so I’m sure you’ll have all the details…

WomblingTree86 · 05/07/2023 17:26

I know someone who was downloading and also distributing images of sexually abused children and they still didn't get jail so I doubt it is highly unusual for no prison or anything to do with this person being trans.

I also know of someone who was a gay male in his 20's and he was sent to jail and first offence. So I guess some parts of the country may let people 'off' and others not.

However, this individual was given consideration by the 'transgender board' and other straight or gay people are not. So this individual was given consideration due to 'it' being trans. A separate board to look at the crime. Perhaps just look at the crime and ignore what the perpetrator feels 'it' is.

It is obvious to anyone who reads the news or has a basic knowledge of mental illness that mental health problems can cause people to do horrible, irrational, incomprehensible things. There was that awful case of Emily Jones, a young girl killed in a park by someone who was in the depths of paranoid schizophrenia.

Given your attitude and insults I expect I would be wasting my time trying to explain the legal process any further.

So no evidence that mental health issues lead to brain changes that create a new desire in men to watch children being raped? How unsurprising.

It's well understood that mental health issues can increase the risk of acting on paedophilic urges. This is not news and it should be obvious (to anyone with a modicum of common sense) that someone who is mentally impaired is more likely than someone who isn't to do horrible things.

Yes, increase the risk of acting on paedophilic urges, not create those urges in the first place. Bit different.

So do you think a man who abuses a child and has depression, is somehow not responsible for his crime? Should the impact on the child and their mental health be given just as much consideration, or no? Why do you think women don’t behave in the same way?
