To be worried about this mole?pic attached

My mum has a mole? on her back, I think she’s had it for years but she says it’s itchy now. We are unsure if it’s changed at all? But does it look worrying? It’s quite raised but not actually sure if it’s a mole or something else. My mum never goes to the doctors and always puts things off so I will convince her to get it checked.

Always worth checking any mole changes with a gp , can you send them a picture of it ?

Always worth getting checked, especially as itchy. It's clearly irritated and has two different colours, they're both markers to get it checked.

I say this as someone who took nothing to the GP just in case and now has a 15cm bald patch on my head and several other scars from having melamona and other moles with changes removed. None of my family thought anything of it, neither did the GP but trusted me when I said it was unusual and thankfully so.

I don't think that's a mole. If you squeeze it (gross) I suspect you'll get a really long wormlike puss come out. Like a giant blackhead.

@Curiouscucumber I thought it was a blocked pore at first but then when I looked again it looked like a raised mole .

It's also a bit discoloured around the edge.

BettyOBarley · 03/07/2023 16:52

If in doubt, get it checked - always.

@iceicebabyy Hope your mum is ok. Did she find out what this was? Xx
