If it’s not covid what is it?

Feeling pretty rough - bad body aches / headaches/ nauseous / low appetite/ so tired. Have felt like this since the start of the weekend so have rested lots and I’m still feeling dreadful, if anything worse today. I’ve done a covid test just because it feels very similar, coming up negative… has anyone else got or had a virus like this recently? Just want it to clear off now!

Well it’s a virus of some sort, very probably. That’s all anyone can say. Rest, drink fluids, take paracetamol until you feel better.

A horrible virus that was going round the school I work in. Hope you feel better soon.

C1239 · 03/07/2023 17:03

It’s rubbish 😟!

I had those symptoms (still do) and I got a weak positive. I was testing negative until week 2.5. May be Covid.

x2boys · 04/07/2023 08:51

It could be any virus other ,virus,s are still.doing the rounds .

UrsulaIsMyQueen · 04/07/2023 08:53

Any other virus? I think people forget that horrid viruses were in circulation before covid, and they still are.
Hope you feel better soon.

It’s just so frustrating, how long should it take for a virus to clear ?

Last Xmas there was a really bad virus going round. Two people told me they'd had COVID and this bug, and that the bug had been far worse!

COVID has a lot in common with other viruses symptom-wise.

Usually about 7-10 days to feel back to normal after a nasty virus.

I just feel bad for not getting better quicker! Rest just doesn’t seem to be helping much

Don’t. It’ll just stress your system more and take longer to recover. I know it’s hard I’m the exact same. Feel better soon

Thank you @Cloxs , I just feel guilty whenever I’m sick!

This could be the start of the 4th wave

Cloxs · 04/07/2023 16:40

So do I @C1239 - I had Covid and was bad for 6 weeks - got better for 2 weeks - now caught Covid again and been on my arse the last 3 weeks. The guilt is insane. But you’ll be ok.

FuckOffTom · 04/07/2023 16:46

OP, I posted on your other thread about this bug you have but I will just say that when I spoke to a GP after 2 weeks of feeling like this, they said I should get an appointment if I wasn’t feeling better after week three. I started feeling better around two and a half weeks. And then got ill again like another poster 🤦‍♀️
Youll more than likely be over the worst of it after a couple of weeks max but you may have some residual, post viral fatigue for a while after. I know I have! Still get heart palpitations after walking up the stairs, still get periods of feeling hot, still get out of breath easily and I’m youngish and a healthy weight!
Oh and I’ve got fucking insomnia now as well 😩

As a side note, have you had bloods done recently? I had very low vit D before Christmas and it made me feel awful and I was picking up every virus going.

Im also definitely going to get a flu jab this year!!!

Ansumpasty · 07/07/2023 13:56

Are you better now? I have similar. Nausea, loose stool, tired, aches and pains and frequent headaches. Diarrhoea today and no appetite, just as the exhaustion has eased.

Fandabedodgy · 07/07/2023 14:03

Just a virus.

pastatriangles · 07/07/2023 14:15

I had this about a month ago. Still tired with body aches. V nasty
