Do the people on here lie about their size?

Anytime I am in AIBU everyone seems to be a size 12 and under. They exercise, don't drink and eat a very healthy diet. I have been looking at the Style & Beauty section. The vast majority of posters are plus size. Am I missing something?

That doesn't equal size though
I have great hair, skin and nails and I'm fat
You could be a size 6 with a shit diet, or a size 14 with a good diet, or even a good diet and shit skin because acne isn't caused by diet

Why’s is cute? What a weird post. Are you always this nasty?

CoffeeCakeAndALattePlease · 03/07/2023 21:43

I’m a size 22 and have been on mumsnet for about 10 years. Rarely mention my size as it’s usually irrelevant.

wutheringkites · 03/07/2023 21:44

I don't think I have ever seen an AIBU thread where everyone posts their size.

Tunnocks34 · 03/07/2023 21:46

It’s easier to be who you want to be online isn’t it?

I think size is a bit of a weird indicator boast anyway. I’m between a size 8/10 (8 too small but 10 too big) but I have lots of loose skin on my belly from three children, which flops over all my waist bands or bulges around. Only reason I don’t have saggy boobs is because I am AA cup.

I have a great arse though 🤣🤣

I'm about a 12 but at the start of the year was a 16. I still wear a 14 top due to my boob size.

Well done!! Good for you.

Of course people lie. People lie about everything on MN

But I also think a certain type of person considers themselves better than others because they are slimmer. They drive a lot of self worth from their weight, and enjoy feeling better than people they consider fat. This is the type of person who's going to post on the type of thread your talking about.

Someone who's size and weight is irrelevant to their life isn't going to be posting this on a MN thread. Someone's who's feeling insecure is less likely to post their size and weight on a MN thread.
