To think that this is really muggy?

I’ve been dating someone for a few months now. They started off as great but just recently they’ve started being really inconsistent, with loads of excuses about things and so on.

We had plans this weekend, and then woke up to a message to say that their dad (who they live with and see on a daily basis) wants to go for lunch instead and apparently they have loads of important things to sort out that they ‘forgot’ about.

AIBU to think this is just muggy, that I’m clearly not a priority and to basically just give up on this now?

It doesn’t sound unbearably warm and humid to me, but it does sound like the sort of freedom someone who’s “dating” should enjoy. If you want your relationship to become more serious and committed, you need to have that conversation.
