Clamped car outside my house

Applesandpear97 · 30/06/2023 20:06

A car has been parked right outside my house the last few days, thinks it’s been abandoned as all the windows are down and there’s a big scrape on the back of the car. The DVLA have clamped it today and put a note on the windscreen. Does any one know how long until it will be taken away?

Well, what does the note say?

"DVLA have clamped it."

Really?

We had an abandoned car outside our house once. The police put "police aware" tape on it (although until that it was only us that were likely to have noticed it had been there a while and wasn't taxed), and then someone smashed a window. At that point, I reported the broken glass as a safety risk, and it was removed pretty quickly!

DVLA clamp for no tax

Yes, the DVLA can clamp untaxed cars.

Why don't you believe that? They do it all the time.

There was one clamped down our road for about 4 months.

The DVLA clamped an untaxed car outside our house once. It was there for about a month, but I don't know if it was taken away or the tax paid and released (we never saw it again either way).

There was one our my road where I loved previously for over a year, admittedly on a quiet culdesac during covid
