Bloody house move

This evening, at six thirty, having exchanged in April with competition date tomorrow ( whole long other story) the people we are buying from have “ hit a pro” and can’t complete tomorrow. If we did this we would lose deposit. They will just lose our extra expenses. I could scream this is so unfair . They have had weeks to sort things out

My DB had this happen to him. It did complete within a week or so, but very, very stressful. Good luck. Hope it turns out ok for you too, but totally understand how horrible it is for you.

What problem have they supposedly hit?

Oh, this is awful. Presumably you are all packed up and have to be out of your house tomorrow. Who passed on this news to you this evening? First thing tomorrow your solicitor needs to be on the phone to establish what this problem is and how it is going to be rectified.

Stay positive! I think with DB's sale it was something to do with the purchaser's mortgage but was sorted out (although he was kind of in the end hoping it didn't as he would keep their deposit)! It did turn out fine, and in retrospect he was very happy it did. We have also moved house many times and have had some nightmare issues too, but all has come good in the end, always!

Solicitor phoned us - we were at pub ad all packed. I just can't believe he can call a halt and have such a small penalty
Our solicitor seems a lot less aggressive than his. Lot of emails tonight but no resolution

Honestly OP, get some sleep (as should I)! Ring your solicitor for an update tomorrow ( and at least it's Thursday so you have a couple of days before the weekend). Hope it gets sorted soon x
