Too many is how many - everyone active swimming

My daughter has just moved up to green hat (stage 4) and I'm slightly horrified that there are 11 in her class. This seems like a lot (one teacher).

so AIBU? Are there any arguments for so many at this level (it’s hardly expert)? And does anyone know at what number everyone active caps it’s numbers for lessons (can’t find any info on the app or website)?

What can she / they do to qualify for this stage ?

I am not familiar with the scheme, or the terminology, but if they are 4 stages in to learning to swim, then I'm presuming they can swim, but will be working on improving technique and learning additional skills. Therefore, I'm not sure why there would be a problem being 11 people in a group / class.

Thank you for your reply. There are 10 stages plus the nursery stage. They can swim independently around 10-15m but take turns so the more children the less pool time (classes are 30mins).

generally there has always seems to be a drive towards smaller class lessons (6-8 as a maximum), with prices increasing according to class size and provider. The cost of her lessons has gone up. Maybe at this stage it is less important 🤷🏻‍♀️

There is 9 is my DC stage 1 class although there are 2 teachers. I still find it too many kids in a small area of pool. So much splashing makes it hard for me to keep an eye on where they are as they are mostly 4-5

9 definitely seems a lot for 1 teacher

In my DD preschool swim lesson there are max 8 spaces but the parents still get in with them too so we're at 16 people in one small space. It's bonkers in there.

(Better, not everyone active)

DD is stage 2 in same scheme and she one of 2 but has been one of 4. At stage 4 they pretty good swimmers so noticed there is more in. The class as you go further up. It's a pretty good scheme.
