To have a third child when the 2 I already have are 10 and 8 years old? Been thinking about this for a while. Anyone else had this age gap?

I personally don’t see anything wrong with it. I never get this sentiment that you shouldn’t have another baby once your existing children are past a certain age. You clearly want one.

It's totally up to you

I'm a third child with the same age difference. I'm the "baby" of the family. It was great growing up with my much older siblings. They looked after and spoilt me, taking me out, giving me lifts when they could drive etc. I always knew more about music, fashion etc as I had them and their friends to mix with. I always had them to go to for advice. Then when they married I was bridesmaid to them both and was a young, fun Aunty to my nephew and nieces (even now, I'm extremely close to them and they confide in me as they see me as so much younger and more understanding than their parents). Plus, my parents had more time and money for me and were easier on me with rules etc as they'd done it all before. Yes, I'll admit that sometimes I felt like an only child and felt envious of people with siblings who were nearer their age, especially after they'd gone away to uni, left home etc but it's the only family dynamic I know and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I have an 11 year old and a 3 month old and it's amazing! The baby adores his big brother already, stares into his eyes with such a look of love it melts my heart. The older one is equally besotted, and is old enough to really enjoy having a baby sibling. I say go for it!
