Why do I get nervous before a night away / holiday

I never used to really pre covid, but now since going away less or not at all I find I don’t really look forward to it I just get nervous / stressed about going away for a holiday or even a night, it’s so frustrating because I want to be able to not stress and just enjoy it. Anyone else the same?

I do too, and on the way to the destination.

I think it is to do with really enjoying time away, and feeling responsible if something isn't great about the holiday.

Mind mind is full of:
What if I've forgotten the passport / ticket
What if the passport is out of date
What if there is a mistake either with the booking or me writing it down and it's the wrong day / time
What if the connection doesn't work (if we are late or if there's been a mistake)
What if the place we are staying is awful
What if there's been a mix up with the booking
What if I've forgotten something vital, like my credit card or the charger

However, I've worried like this since having dc1, and no longer being free to just sleep on the airport floor or camp on the beach or hop on an overnight train, etc. It's nothing to do with covid for me.

This is my DH, he gets really bad social anxiety before holidays/nights away. He's always fine once we're there so I've learned to just adapt to it and never look forward to going away
