Crippling anxiety over holiday

Going on holiday on Wednesday for the first time with my 4 year old. Going for 2 weeks. I'm constantly anxious that something bad is going to happen. He's going to drown in a pool. The plane is going to crash (I know this one is ridiculous but regardless of being a rstional human being, I have a phobia of flying). I'm going to die whilst I'm out there. He's going to get lost etc etc.

To add I am not usually an anxious person, and I am usually able to rationalise situations.

Not sure if it's due to this being the first proper holiday I've had since my close friend was murdered abroad, but suspect it is linked.

I need to calm down but not sure how to. Does anyone have any words of wisdom? I'm being ridiculous I know, but I don't know how to de-stress.

I get pre holiday anxiety too, so I sympathise, but it will be ok once you get there. You’ve just got to get through this bit.

We are useable irrational when we don’t know what we are facing to take control write down your list

If the plane crashes - out of your control -
If the hes in the pool - you will be there with him - he will have water wings - there will be other parents watching - there will be a life guard.

He might go missing - you will be with him, he will have a parent strap or back pack to hold on to - you will write your phone number on his wrist band -

When you take control everything change

So break it down
The chances of the plane crashing virtually nil
Drowning - has he got armbands? Again out of the millions who swim in pools abroad how many drown? Tell him no arm bands no swimming
Can you take some kalms before hand?
