Watched footage on the news of Elton's last ever performance on British soil at Glastonbury and audience members were recording themselves singing along.

And........? Confused

That’s nothing.

I once witnessed a woman go into the internet and post that she was watching tv and saw people at a concert record themselves singing.

It’s like the next evolution of Gogglebox.

😂

This seems a pretty unremarkable thing to me.

I said the same to DH, all those people paying hundreds of pounds to watch live music through their phone!

InTheGardenShed · 25/06/2023 22:40

That's exactly what I meant. Put the phone away and be in the moment.

DH and I are on holiday on Skye at the moment. We walked to a beautiful white beach with tropical blue water. We walked past a couple who were sitting looking at their phones rather than absorbing the beauty around them.

It’s a festival. A lot of people won’t have gone specifically to see Elton John, personally I’m not a fan of him so wouldn’t really care about missing out on his set and I find it more fun to sing along to a song at a gig than just to watch it quietly.

If people put their phones away and just enjoyed every moment then no events would be ever recorded, nobody would ever have baby photos of their kids, nothing would be on camera ever. Do you really never take photos or videos of anything for fear of not being in the moment? How sad to have no memories committed to photo at all.

They could have been sitting there for hours though, before you walked past.
