THE NOISE!

We live in an area that has a lot of communal land, and there are Factors who maintain this.

There are iron railings that need to be replaced and the noise is utterly horrendous - lots of banging and drilling - and for some reason, the Factors have decided, that the best time to carry out this work, is 8am on a Saturday morning.

Is this not the most stupid thing ever? So, people who have been up early every day to go to work, cannot sleep in past 8am on a Saturday morning.

Why on earth wouldn't you schedule this for a weekday or lunchtime?

I have to be up anyway for work (wfh), but I feel so sorry for those that wanted to rest this morning.

What is a Factor?

Property management company.

Is it just the one Saturday? In which case YABU.

AutumnCrow · 24/06/2023 09:18

Try living close to a railway main line at a weekend ...

Additionally we have had Screaming Woman Down The Road on full throttle since 7.45 am. (I suspect that's what time her husband rolled up back home.)

Anyway, OP, I hope that the Factors finish their factoring by the end of the day. Then it's all over and peace will reign once more.

Thesearmsofmine · 24/06/2023 09:21

It sounds like a one off and something that needs doing so YABU

Objectionhearsayspeculation · 24/06/2023 10:54

This morning we had urgent need to chainsaw at 07.30 for reasons unknown.
Last week it was urgent need to scrape minuscule particles of dirt of the lane to make a point at 07.00.
Next week might be petty little man removing noisy tool from where the sun doesn't shine.

Not everybody works Mon to Fri 9 to 5

BeachBlondey · 24/06/2023 12:24

I realise not everyone works Mon to Fri 9-5, but why start such a noisy job on any day at 8am?

I realise not everyone works Mon to Fri 9-5, but why start such a noisy job on any day at 8am?

Because it's going to be 30 degrees in a couple of hours and they just want to get it over with?

JudgeAnderson · 24/06/2023 12:38

If OP lives in the land of factors then it's not hitting 30 degrees today.

PriamFarrl · 24/06/2023 12:45

If it’s just a one off then I’d be annoyed but suck it up.

maras2 · 24/06/2023 12:55

Heard the term 'Factor' a lot watching 'Take the High Road' years ago.
(misses the point, sorry) 😀

Abracadabra12345 · 24/06/2023 13:23

If this is the only one off noise you have to worry about all year, consider yourself very lucky indeed

Because it's going to take the whole day to finish?
