Moving maintenance dates

Back story, partner left when I was pregnant and DS is now 6, has always paid Maintenance and is a disney dad!

Change jobs and pay dates a couple of times over the years and the last time I mentioned that when he moves the date back a week he really should be paying that week too. Caused confrontation as he didn't get it so I left it

He has asked again to move the date back a week due to other payments which the date is no problem for me. But I do think that first payment he pushes back should include the extra week (£100 a week)

I know it will be met with an argument! But I don't think it should be at my expense when we have the summer holidays coming up.

But i am worried I am being petty!!! AIBU?

@jelly79 I'm confused

Your ex wants to move the date back - I'm assuming his pay day has changed from say the 22nd of each month to 31st and therefore missing a week.

I suppose the prudent question is does he pay the CSA amount or over ?

Is it a question of he simply can't afford the extra on top of what he gives you ?

I have found that actually being flexible if you can tends to keep the drama to a min. I realise not everyone can do that

Yeah pretty much from the first week to second week.

I just think if he moved his mortgage date back a week he would have to make that week up and it's happened a couple of time

But also I cba with the debate / confrontation. It's not ideal to move the date to be honest but I can manage .

I may suggest he moves it forward a week instead 🤣

He pays slightly under the CSA amount but buys him bits so I don't bother

Yes he should, but you can't make him unless he pays via a formal arrangement with CMS. If he doesn't then I'd look to get this sorted.

You make an excellent point!
