I need to decide by Tuesday and I keep going back and forth.
All are at the same company, same wage/grade. I already work for the company so know the reality vs marking. No additional child care costs and communiting costs/time aren't enough to influence the decision. I don't plan on leaving the company.
Which would you choose?
Job 1 positives
Interesting area
Not sonething I'd be able to get into normally
High profile / influence
Brilliant for my CV
Chance to get official qualifications
Opens lots of doors
No managing staff
Job1 negatives
Major imposter syndrome guarenteed!
Out of my comfort zone
Purely office based. No home working
Less flexibility with hours
It's a 4 year contract but I will still have a job at the end of it, probably job2 but not sure.
Not allowed to take up other opportunities eg secondments
Job2 positives
I've worked in this area before
Lots of flexibility with hours and leave
Large team and I know lots of them and generally like them
Lots of support
Key business role
Lots of opportunities for pet projects/secondments etc.
Opportunity for promotion in the future (not sure I want to though)
Lots of overtime if I want it.
Job2 negatives
Will probably have set office days with little influence over them.
High pressure
I will have to manage a team
Can be repetative
Competative
Job3 positives
New area to me although I have some exposure to it.
Possibility of high profile qualification (although I'm not sure how likely it is)
No management responsibilities
Complete freedom over hours
Hybrid working but my choice if/when I go to office
Feels like I'll make a difference
Job rarely comes up
Look good on my CV
Job4 negatives
I don't like one of the people I'll be working with
I will be part of a team throughout England and Scotland with no local team
Not sure about holiday flexibility
No chance of promotion
Very specialist. Will deskill me in some areas.
