Where to go for 4/5 nights?

My gran has very kindly offered to pay for me and DH to go on holiday. She wanted us to go for a week, but I've been looking and can't find anything for under £1000.

We need to fly from Edinburgh or Glasgow which probably doesn't help.

Has anyone been anywhere recently for under £1000 for 2 people?

We are flying from Edinburgh to Rhodes with EasyJet holidays in sept for under £1000 b&b

Could you put the dates in on Skyscanner and see where the cheapest flights come up - then have a check of accommodation from there?

Highly recommend Slovenia! It's a really beautiful place and was cheap to get to and for food/drink/travel while we were there a few years back. We stayed in Ljubljana and did day trips to Lake Bled, Maribor and Postnja caves, all stunning!! Their trains were all great and made travelling within the country dead easy too.

Why do you need to fly to Glasgow? There are direct flights from Edinburgh to Malta, Italy, Poland, Czechia, Spain, Bulgaria etc. Even if the flights set you back £500 (depending on dates), it still leaves plenty for Airbnb

We've just booked a week in Gran Canaria for a week. Me and DH, £937 half board in a lovely hotel.

Is the budget just for flights/accom or spending money/food too?
