Could I have been compromised?

I changed network provider for my phone so took out my old sim and replaced it with my new one. I received an email from my old provider saying ‘thank you for switching over to pay as you go’ I didn’t do this so I was confused but didn’t think anything about it. Now I’ve tried to log into online banking with details I know are correct and it’s blocked me out saying my details are wrong. Could somebody have got my old sim and accessed my online banking and changed my details?

Anything is possible.

Saying that you may find that the details aren’t kept on your sim so the new sun wouldn’t recognize your bank account?

Thank you, I’m hoping so. My online banking is still set up with the mobile number of my previous sim as I’ve only just switched over

I'd call your bank, they should have a 24 hour number

Did you port your number over to your new provider? If not your old provider will assume you are going PAYG if you ended your contracted.
Did you chop your old SIM card up to prevent anyone using it?
