Aibu to think if I wore those heels day in day out on all those walk about visits she does, my feet would be hanging off!

She must have an Amazon subscription to Scholl Party feet inserts.

Hope she travels with a foot spa.

Sometimes seeing her alongside meghan it looked like they wanted to wear the same type of shoes.

Or perhaps I'm over thinking it and their stylists suggested them/got a job lot at the market 😄

Isn't it that the more expensive the heel the more comfortable it is? Something to do with the arch support, cushioning, balance and craftsmanship? So therefore they are easier to wear for longer? A high heel also lengthens the leg and gives a certain look.

However I do think very high heels look a little dated and would like to see her in a few flats or ballet pumps. And generally be a little more adventerous and experimental. Champion young fashion designers. Not that what she wears is any of my business!

Lightbulbspark · 22/06/2023 00:10

A pair of mid heel Mary-Janes would look good too.

Judgyjudgy · 22/06/2023 01:36

To me sky high heels are so glamorous and sexy, they could never date. Unfortunately i can't wear them anymore, but flat shoes aren't the same, and are never sexy (unless they are some kind of dainty sandle)

CuteCillian · 22/06/2023 02:07

I do think her shoes give the impression of a female candidate in The Apprentice. Who else wears heels like that these days?
The other royal women seem to go for more of a block-ie heel, more elegant in my opinion.

CarolinaInTheMorning · 22/06/2023 04:51

The white stilettoes in particular need to be retired. The others I like.

Lisbeth50 · 22/06/2023 05:47

It's sad to think also that she just would not be permitted to do royal visits or walkabouts in flats; inherently sexist isn't it when Wills can wear comfy shoes.

Why isn't she allowed to wear flats? Princess Diana often did. It's only recently that the royals seem to wear really high heels.

Harryyourenogoodalone · 22/06/2023 05:59

She always looks dated and stiffly formal so the old fashioned Apprentice style heels match that.

ArcticBells · 22/06/2023 06:01

I'm a fan but think it's time she moved on from the LKBennetts

wildfirewonder · 22/06/2023 06:04

Personally I don't like high heels, and the style of women who wear them - including the RF - doesn't appeal to me.

The RF are 'style icons' only to the type of people who have an interest in princesses, you're either like that or you're not.

What the RF wear is chosen by stylists to appeal to the type of people who want to look at the RF. Any nonsense about them choosing their own clothes is all part of the illusion, they're a walking projection.

Amore2023 · 22/06/2023 06:05

According to my gossip magazine reading 🙈, both Catherine and Megan wear 1/2 a size too big and this makes the heels more comfortable. With my wide feet, heels are torture, unless I spend £££ on wider but still beautiful ones.

Jeez

I think this is probably true.

But also, as a couple of PPs have said, you get used to heels. I can run in heels, provided they fit properly. And Kate's engagements aren't that long, and involve sitting and standing still. She isn't wearing them for a full 9-5 day at the office, plus a commute on the tube.

crumpet · 22/06/2023 06:15

She also wears boots and trainers for active engagements. Lots of people wear heels to work (possibly less so since lockdown) anyway.

wildfirewonder · 22/06/2023 06:16

@Theos it's just my view.

I don't know anyone in real life who admires them, but online there's lots of really superficial admiration.

Tontostitis · 22/06/2023 06:32

I love her style, proper heels are a power move and she looks great in boots and trainers. She's always appropriate for the occasion, we see her in flat boots and in trainers too.

myrtleWilson · 22/06/2023 06:47

She has worn low heels and ballet pumps to engagements so perhaps she does have achey feet days or just wears what she fancies..

BarbaraofSeville · 22/06/2023 06:56

Maybe she likes them?

I would hope that's why she wears them, rather than because she's doing it under instruction or out of some sense of obligation.

Maybe she has them in a big display cabinet at home and her 'me time' is to admire and stroke her beautiful shoes?

Whatifthegrassisblue · 22/06/2023 07:02

Maybe she likes them? Hmm

KinderCat · 22/06/2023 07:09

Whilst I admire her dedication to a heel, style of them aside she doesn't always wear them so there must be some element of choice/when it is appropriate

She does wear flats and trainers ifvisit suits. She was wearing veja trainers to something the other day and she does sporty visits and so wears trainers to them.

Thatsshallot1967 · 20/06/2023 22:28

Never seen her or any other royal lady (unless pregnant - Eugenie I recall) in flats on formal engagements. I imagine it's just not the done thing and would be frowned upon.

Princess Diana used to wear flats to engagements to avoid towering over Charles!

KimberleyClark · 22/06/2023 07:21

yipeeyiyay · 20/06/2023 22:44

She chooses to wear extremely high heels. She could easily choose to wear a 3 inch but she chooses a 5 inch. She's already 5'10". I think they look a bit dated tbh but then she's never been particularly fashion forward

She is 5ft 7.5. Everyone thinks she’s 5.10 because she’s never seen without heels!

aloris · 22/06/2023 07:23

She has occasionally worn flat shoes. She is very tall and slim, so she could certainly get away with lower heels or flats, she would still look dignified and would never be difficult to pick out in a group of dignitaries or anything like that. but the thing is, she has good legs but wears quite long skirts and conservative cuts to her outfits; I presume she was told to do so by QEII or KC or QC. So wearing high heels allows her to enjoy how nice she looks with her strong calves and slim ankles. I think considering how conservative her clothing is, her high heels are one way she can enjoy that she's still an attractive and fairly young woman. You're only young once, so more power to her.

See to me these are so bla. If I could I would always wear heels (although yes you might look silly wearing them to something casual, but generally when I've had a choice, heels all the way).
