Noisy gym people (light-hearted)

Am sat on my balcony overlooking the med, with my room service breakfast. The people in the outdoor gym below me are chucking tyres around. Making a right racket. It's ruining my peace. Should I tell them to fuck off to the restaurant and get themselves a massive fry up? Honestly, what's wrong with these people?

Oh honestly
I wouldn't be light hearted about that unless you're on the 30th floor and the noise isn't too bad.

I hope ypu enjoy your holiday though.

Floofydawg · 20/06/2023 08:11

I don't

It is really that loud. I'm on the 2nd floor.

If it's that tyres and battle ropes business it will be well loud. I have a neighbour that pounds tyres with a giant hammer in his garden.

Men especially seem to feel the need to make an awful lot of noise while exercising. It’s like they have a competition as to who can grunt/shout the loudest so everyone knows how hard they must be working. It’s honestly ridiculous sometimes and I have to stop myself from laughing at them

BitOutOfPractice · 20/06/2023 08:36

The men at the gym grunting and shouting then dropping the weights bar from a great height so the whole room shakes. They really get on my wick 😡

And yes, it’s always men.

ArcticBells · 20/06/2023 08:37

Go and join them

Beneficialchampion2 · 20/06/2023 08:40

Put in some headphones or go and join them.

Exercise is good for the mental state, given how irritable you are it would appear that yours isn't so great.

Floofydawg · 20/06/2023 08:50

Oh, I'll be swimming lengths in the pool soon. Which makes no noise.

Why is it always the blokes who have to do very performative gym stuff?
There are plenty of women at the gym lifting big weights and using the big serious machines, but quietly.
It's always men taking up all the free floor space leaping on and off boxes, gruntily, and waggling those giant rope things across the whole gym so you have to walk around them to get to the rowers.
Show offs.

Floofydawg · 20/06/2023 09:01

It's always the men who do really splashy swimming as well. Twats.

Yes, the performative male exercising.

I changed treadmills the other day to get away from a grunting man that I could hear over my music. Just stop it.

Floofydawg · 20/06/2023 11:23

@Behindthelines true, those women do my head in too.

Update: there's obviously a morning class involving lots of rope banging and other noisy stuff. Woke me up at 8am - could hear it with the doors closed 😡

I'd definitely complain, you won't be the only guest annoyed by this.
