To not rent this house?

There's a house for rent in the neighborhood we want to move to, and it's significantly less expensive than similar sized homes, but it has bright yellow walls and bright blue shelves and cupboards. Assuming all that's wrong with it is the colors, am I unreasonable to spend more every month just to get a house with white walls? It's not like white walls are so exciting.

It's your money. Do what you like. LOL

Is this a joke? Am I missing something? If rented housing is so easy to come by in your area, then just walk on by, but if not, snap up a cheap property!

I would try to negotiate to rent it and paint the walls and shelves. Then you get a nice white house and it's cheaper.

Would the ll let you paint it white? Most wouldn't object.

Paint it white, then ask the landlord if they want it returned to its colourful state when you move out?

but I would be wary that someone who can’t even be arsed to spend a few hundred quid decorating it before renting it out also can’t be arsed to do lots of other maintenance and repair jobs

I don't know if they'd let us paint. It looks very well done, professionally done, just bright. I think the bright blue Roman shades on the windows are custom, for example.

I wouldn't want to live with royal blue blinds and yellow walls, so I'd pass on it!

Offer and say you'll paint and paint it back bright blue after you leave. I've painted a rental with a yellow ceiling, dark green skirting and lime green walls. I paid for it all did a good job and wasn't asked to change it back
