Car park road rage!

Was at the supermarket this morning and parked on the end of the row. A taxi driver stopped to my back right which meant I couldn't reverse to that direction to get out. No problem I thought, I can reverse to the back left and take the other way out of the car park. As I'm doing this, to slip out of my space and onto the road, a man drives up smack bang over the white line so blocking the whole road behind the taxi driver. He then proceeds to gesticulate furiously at me before reversing back so he's on his side of the road. His reaction was so OTT all I can think is he thought car park was one way (which it isn't) and I was pulling a fast one... or have I broken some unwritten carpark rule I was unaware of?!

Red: angry man
Dark blue: confused me
Light blue: blocking taxi driver

Haven't a clue, but I like that you've thought about the facial expression each of you should have. Red guy was too far out and shouldnt have been trying to overtake. He obviously got socks for father's Day.

So is the description. I wish everyone would stop advocating the middle finger - I don't know why but I find it extremely offensive.

I think your description is just as big a problem as your diagram. Nothing about either the words or the diagram make any sense.

For example you've just said you reversed back to the left and were on the correct side of the road. Followed by saying you were then positioning on correct side of the road. Well which is it? Did you reverse onto the correct side of the road, or did you reverse and then position on to the correct side of the road?

Was Angry man behind or in front of you at this point? The diagram implies behind you I think, but the words imply in front of you between you and the taxi?

So frankly, if you're not able to describe the situation clearly, or draw the situation clearly, I have no hope at all that you understood what was happening around you at the time.

So you were on the left hand side of the side road, preparing to turn to the left at a T junction onto a main road? Where was the red car when you turned into the main road? You shouldn't have moved until the red car was past you.

Not me, all you would have got from me would have been a shake of the head, or if necessary because of collision risk, a brief toot.

Plus the day you find me across the centre line without good reason, you are welcome to come and get my driving licence and burn it in front of me 😂

Still can't work out what the hell your diagram or description mean though. Can't even work out how you had the option of reversing both towards the taxi or towards angry man? One was behind you and the other in front from your diagram.

So I've updated your image. I think you wanted to to do something like the red line? But the taxi was in the way. But in that case how could you reverse like your blue line if the front of the car was facing that way? You'd just drive out of the bay.

And given where the taxi was, if you wanted to reverse out (perhaps some barrier at the front of the bay?), why not just do something like the green line to get out?

And if I've misunderstood the direction the car is facing, surely you'd do something more like my blue line to head out where you wanted to go so that you weren't reversing out across a junction?
