C-Section stitches

Help! Apologies in advance, id probably post this in pregnancy, but this has more traffic.

I had a baby by section on 20th May. A few days later I noticed the internal stitches had protruded through the skin. I did mention this to my midwife on my 10 day check up, and she mentioned these would go within a week and not to worry. She did say these stitches were plastic - if that's even worth a mention...

It's now much further on than a week, and the stitches are still very much there. Plus side, no obvious signs of infection.
Of course I'll ring my GP on Monday, but just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Or does it perhaps need more time to dissolve? Or do i even need to call the GP at all.

I had wrist surgery with clear disposable sutures - monocryl. They take around 90 days to go. The wound won't heal though whilst they're protruding and is leaving you open to infection. I'd maybe see if it can be sorted out to be honest.

GP appointment for doctor's advice.

The suture material they use can take up to 6 weeks to fully absorb, so could be a while yet, nothing to worry about if no signs of infection
