To wonder if there's a fence equivalent of penguin bollards?

I have the age old issue of the next door neighbours using my front garden as a path as its more convenient for them to walk to the end of their drive before turning onto the street.

They've been asked more than once to stop and didn't, I spoke to the letting agent who manages the property of the owner and while it seemed to stop for a bit the neighbours told me they carried on doing it when I was out. I've installed a ring doorbell, have the evidence to go back to letting agent on Monday but was planning to put a passive aggressive boundary marker like in the photo.

Its quite a small bit of land relatively speaking so big planters etc will be too much but it made me wonder if there was another solution akin to the infamous penguin bollards. I'm feeling pretty petty because I am sick fed up of people who they can do whatever they like and the rest of us just have to put up with it. Will consider anything that will get the message across (while giving the other neighbours, who are all lovely, a chuckle).

Hit me with it, o nest of vipers 😂

do you have a dog? A few days of them getting dog shit on their shoes might deter them!

If you don’t have/want a dog I would highly recommend a pet goose instead, excellent garden guarding skills and horrible poos

Dig a pit, cover with vegetation. Ensure it is too deep to climb out of and when they fall in just put the earth back in the hole and put a heavy statue on top. Problem solved.

@SoapyBubblesLittleTroubles you seriously need this in your life: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pestbye®-Battery-Operated-Activated-Repellent/dp/B004YCUT4W/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=motion+activated+sprinkler&qid=1687123831&sprefix=motion+activated+%2Caps%2C82&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1

I'd re-watchthe ring doorbell footage of their reaction to this over and over again - and share with my friends and family too! LOL

If you buy it PLEASE come back and tell us what happens!

@SoapyBubblesLittleTroubles also - you have the added bonus of being able to be super smug about it if they complain....

"Well - I was concerned about how my grass was becoming patchy. I did ask you not to walk on it to help preserve it. It's not any better so I thought I'd invest in a sprinkler to help bring it back to life."

I don't want to plant anything purely because I hate gardening.*

Which is why you should team it with the sprinkler to ensure that the plants are watered.

I'm going with the cat deterrent auto sprinkler.

Unfortunately the ring doorbell will capture very clear images which could probably be used against me in a court of law 😂

I think as long as you put up a sign telling people they are there you should be fine
( not a lawyer)
