AIBU to crack open and bottle of wine and screech out power ballads in the kitchen?

I thought I’d feel really lonely, but actually I think this is what I needed. First time in 12 years I’ve had the place to myself.

I'm 12 years?! Good lord is have had a breakdown long ago. You need to have the best evening you can, even if that means lying still on the sofa with snacks in reach!

Duckingella · 17/06/2023 19:37

Wine,a takeaway and whatever movie you want to watch without your other half complaining

My DH is working away so last night it was a vodka&sprite (I forgot wine),a Indian takeout (the hubby doesn't really do spice) and the film me before you and yes I ugly cried at the end.

Go for it! Kitchen disco for one with wine and crisps followed by cup of tea and chocolate on the sofa watching a programme/film and falling asleep in front of the telly. Then bed and lie in.

@Duckingella I have literally just ordered a curry because no one likes it apart from me. I am living the dream!

12 years ? Shock

Good grief ... I've had at least one, if not two, nights a week alone forever ... the joys of having a DH who worked away and loves taking DS away at weekends. In fact now DH is retired I am having to get used to fewer nights in my own Grin ... I keep encouraging him to go off for camping, golf & hiking trips Grin

12 years! me and DH work in the same office and normally when people come to visit they stay with us because we have space to accommodate people but this time they have gone to visit family and I’m staying behind with the dog. So not only do I live with him I work with him! Luckily we get in very well, but my god I feel like a weight has been lifted!
