To be so worried about this first date?

I’ve been getting to know someone virtually for the last few months (we are quite long distance and each have our own commitments) and we get on really well.

This weekend is our first proper in-person date, and the nerves and anxiety of meeting her is really flaring my IBS up - typical really!

She knows that I have health conditions and I’ve spoken to her before when my stomach isn’t feeling it’s best but I’m so worried that something embarrassing is going to happen and it’s going to totally put her off!

I’ve already got my supplies ready (medicine, I always carry spare clothes and plan toilet routes etc) but my mind is thinking absolute worst case scenario which would be absolutely mortifying!

Any advice would be really welcome, TIA! X

Fear and excitement have the same physical symptoms.

You've prepared as best you can so now relax and enjoy going with the flow. If she can't handle whatever happens then she won't be the right match for you

You’ll be fine. Deep breaths! Also empathise - meeting mine soon!

Thank you so much - I feel a bit more at ease now as I brought it up to her casually and we ended up having a laugh over it and she had a great response which was reassuring! I hope yours goes well @DunkFriesinShake!! x

Thank you!

it’s good you two can communicate - it goes a long way. I think it’s fine to be nervous. It means it’s important to you. But that bit will pass in just a few short minutes. And then you will know!

let me know how you get on! :) Good luck

Just remember you're still getting to know her. One step at a time. And do something relaxing the night before.
