AIBU in feeling sad of the passing of the great Glenda Jackson. In a world of celebrity culture she stood out as one of the great actresses and a formidable politician.
She truly was one hell of a woman.

It's sad. She was extraordinary. And played a brilliant King Lear.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 15/06/2023 13:43

I had a lot of respect for her. Sad she’s no longer with us.

I wasn’t aware until I saw your post. What a downer! Another icon of my youth. Not only a great actor but had a fine principled mind as well.

Bonjovispjs · 15/06/2023 14:06

She took a photo of my cat once. Was on my way to the vet with him in a carrier and she stopped me and asked if she could take a picture for her friend who loves cats 😁

Thedogscollar · 15/06/2023 16:22

@Bonjovispjs Yes she aways came across as very down to earth no airs and graces. This quality shone through in her politics too. She will be sorely missed for many reasons.

I’ve rewatched her take down of Thatcher today. She was as magnificent in the Commons as she was on stage or film. I’m very sad she’s gone, she was a very fine human being.

Thedogscollar · 15/06/2023 20:40

@Blossomtoes
She would have made a great PM wouldn't she. She was a woman who could identify and empathise with everyone in society.
Thatcher was the total opposite.
