To wonder what this itching is?

5 year old son keeps itching all over… mainly legs but also upper body at times too. It isn’t constantly but ongoing for a month or so now. There is no rash at all and no signs that something is causing him to itch. I have given Piriton and it seems to help. I don’t want to keep giving him it though.
He has no other symptoms, stable weight, appetite etc. I can’t help but worry it’s something underlying because I tend to jump to worst case! Any idea?!

Itching is my first mild hay fever symptom, before I get runny eyes/nose/sneezing etc. Do the on and off periods coincide with outdoor time? Pollen has been very high for a few weeks now and a lot of people who don't usually react to it have mild symptoms.

If you don't think it's that, I would very another allergy if some kind.

Interestingly my husband has awful hay fever and allergies and my son does itch his nose too! Seems worse in morning and when he’s out and about as keeps stopping to itch! I would assume if anything sinister the Piriton wouldn’t help!

Certain washing powders make me itch. What do you use? Try changing it and seeing if there is a difference. It does sound a possibility, especially because he's scratching on the torso and legs.
