To ask how much your owe on your mortgage and your age?

Recently remortgaged and the massive rate rise got us thinking. Made me wonder - what is the average people owe? Yes it depends on area/value/when bought etc. But to make it simple I'd be interested in
A) how much owed
B) your age

I'll go first! We owe £115k and I'm 31.

44, 102k which is about 9% LTV.

Should be paid off in less than 4 years

NoHeavenNoMore · 14/06/2023 04:27

75k
I'm 30

Kidsandcat · 14/06/2023 04:41

140k 47

Was lower but got extension

Jazzybeat · 14/06/2023 04:45

Quite an interesting thread. Some v high in absolute numbers but of course all relative as someone said. From our side we owed about 265k and we are 42 and 38. We have a plan to pay it off in 3.5 years time when our current 1.15% fix expires but it’s a tough plan!

Kabbalah · 14/06/2023 04:53

Zero : 42

WaitingfortheTardis · 14/06/2023 04:54

About 350k, mid 30's. It does sometimes feel an insane amount.

tiutinkerbell · 14/06/2023 04:59

Im 30, DH is 36. Fwiw that’s less than 50% of our home value though so I don’t feel too badly about it x

Terven · 14/06/2023 06:06

£40,000 and I’m 56. I was mortgage free at 43 but then decided to upsize. I will be mortgage free again at the end of this year because I’m not getting another mortgage.

NameChangeSorryNotSorry · 14/06/2023 06:08

350k both age 33
house worth maybe £550?
its depressing. Still 28 years left on the mortgage and expecting the repayments to shoot up when we have to remortgage

HarrietStyles · 14/06/2023 06:20

£880k aged 38 and 39 😬

whowhatwhen · 14/06/2023 06:38

User186497098 · 14/06/2023 06:51

Zero, we always bought cash, never had a mortgage, age 55

ErnestCelendine · 14/06/2023 06:51

120K and 13 years to go (unless overpay and shorten that, or life plans go go shit and I need to remortgage for whatever reason!)
