Bank Holiday Weekend Party

I have started inviting people to my little boy’s birthday party as it is on the August Bank Holiday so I won’t be seeing most people for about 2 months before the party but I am now thinking that I have made a mistake as people are saying they’re going on holiday and I don’t think we’re going to have a good turn out 😩
I’m not really sure what to as I’ve already booked it so do I just plan for it to be a smaller party??

I would never commit to attending a child’s party on a bank holiday weekend 2 months in advance! In fact I’d decline it for the very reason Bankys are awesome and I would definitely have something more fun (sorry!) to do nearer the time. I’d change the weekend personally.

August is a nightmare for parties, I'm an august birthday! If you can't change the date plan for a smaller gathering

Generally, with children's parties, I'd avoid school holidays full stop, but I would definitely avoid Bank holidays if you want lots of people to come.

Yes, bank holidays and small childrens birthday prties. you'll get a lot that decline. Those long weekends are precious and sorry to say, kids birthday parties won't be on their top fun list. And 2 months in advance is a long time. I'd just decline because even if nothing planned right now, I would know I will be doing something and it won't be a kids party!

I have a dc whose bday falls over a school half term. I soon learnt that parties need to be the weekend before or after - when the dc are still at school, because no-one would commit to a party in case they were doing something for the half term.

First one we had after dc started school the invitees dropped like flies over a few days before. The following year we did the party 2 weeks later and every single one invited came. So definitely avoid school hols and bank holidays.
