Not sure how to word this so excuse clunky language.
I have never been happy. Ongoing trauma in childhood lead to poor mental health very early on. Therapy didn't help.

I have always heard that hobbies help people to feel better. To do things they enjoy. I don't know what I enjoy as I can't remember ever enjoying anything other than the DC. I know I liked to draw in primary school, is that a hobby?

I am looking for ideas on things that I might enjoy. What hobbies do you have that a complete beginner can enjoy and that have the option of doing solo not only in a group. I would just like to try to break my day to day cycle and see how it is.

@redavocado Out of interest what do you do with your finished pieces? I really enjoy cross stitch but tend to avoid it because I can't see a use for the squares when I'm done!

So far I've tended to stitch a few big full coverage pieces which take a decent amount of time to finish, just because I've thought they would look good hung up around the house. I mostly frame finishes myself as professional framing can be pricey. I normally work on a few smaller pieces such as birthday/Christmas/Mother's Day cards and gifts to break things up a bit. Samplers for newborns within family and friends are also quite fun. During Covid I stitched a lot of Christmas tree baubles and decor. I liked how they looked and now my future projects are quite geared toward seasonal decor.

Thank you all. I truly appreciate all the suggestions. I am genuinely going to try as many of these as I can within the next year. I'm listing them all to tick off as I try them and have already looked up some locally.
Hopefully by summer of next year I will be doing more than just going through the motions of life and actually have a regular thing (or 2 or 3!) that I can enjoy and look forward to during the week.
This is the goal I have given myself anyway.
