Am I boring?

I'm nearly 40, F, don't drink alcohol or take recreational drugs, would u think I'm boring? Especially the no alcohol part

No. Some of the most boring tedious people I know are those after a few drinks.

But I don't do much either. I have 2 close friends who live far away so don't see often. So I'm often not up to much whereas my hobby has an active social life with his mantle friends. Most evening after kids in bed I just watch tv and same again at weekends unless we have family days out etc

No but people you socialise with will want you to drink with them if they are drinkers. And if you go to an event where everyone is drinking you can feel like you’re not quite having as much fun as everyone else. I don’t drink and I’m not boring but I did have some cracking nights out when pissed that I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed quite so much sober (then had the cracking hangover the next day).

This is the thing there's a hen party soon and I won't be drinking but alcohol just doesn't agree with me anymore. I used to drink and party lots in my 20s but given it all up lately as just doesn't agree with me

I'd stop worrying about whether people think you're boring. I'm certain that my life would be considered boring by many, but that's fine! I like my boring life. I don't need to drink to make other people think I'm interesting enough. If they don't like me sober, they don't like me! Too bad for them, but I'm not going to change who I am to suit someone who doesn't like me for who I am.

You can still have fun at the hen party without drinking. Or if the whole thing truly is only about drinking and you think you'll hate it, beg off with the excuse that you can longer drink.

Boring people are boring whether drinking or not (actually probably more boring with drink in them). Don't feel pressured to drink to fit in. If you're enjoying yourself, that's all that matters. However, if you're bored and unhappy with the lack of activities or social life, take up some hobbies, join some clubs - not everything revolves around alcohol

Not drinking is not boring. In fact people whose lives revolve around alcohol are incredibly dull! I say this as a former binge drinker. I think I'm more interesting now I rarely drink.

Not drinking or doing drugs isn't boring but doing nothing but watching telly is.

Honestly don’t worry, I know plenty of people who don’t drink alcohol and it has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not they’re boring!

I just wouldn’t make a big deal of it on the hen party, just order whatever drink you like and I reckon most people won’t even notice/care, if they do then they’re the boring ones tbh, it’s quite boring to be particularly interested in what anyone else drinks/eats.

I’m exactly the same OP. Even when I was younger, I’ve never been a drinker and I’ve always been happy to get on with life doing my own thing without being a social butterfly.

I met up with some old friends recently for some lunch. We all had a coke and had a great time. 🙂

All my friends and I are the same. I don't think we're boring but those who want to go out drinking and take drugs with friends wouldn't want to hang out with us.
