My neighbour blocked our parking bay once too many and I blew a gasket.

Then I went overboard apologising for upsetting them!

Am I abnormal feeling the need to smooth things over for the sake of keeping the peace?

I'm the same OP. Always the peacekeeper and always trying to avoid a confrontation. It has done me no good. People think I'm easy going and nice but they don't realise the amount of times i remember some little injustice from years ago where I didn't stand up for myself and still feel resentment. I have worked hard in recent years to be more assertive, I'm usually OK in work but it's family and friends that I struggle most with. Plus I'm always terrified someone won't like me. Ridiculous I know.. I'm 46 and sound like I'm 12.
