Is business class worth it with two toddlers ?

Would it make the journey better ? My DH absolutely refuses do go long haul with our 1 and 3 year olds.

Would flying business actually make it any easier ? The one year old would still be on one of our laps. The three year old would their own seat etc.

Has anyone done this ? It's so much more expensive and I don't want to do it, unless it will make a considerable difference.

Most airlines won’t allow you to fly business/1st class with small children.

what did I just read ? I have yet to come across single airline that doesn't allow children to fly business/first!

the costs are pretty high... but can be worth it depending on the airline. for example BA business has become really crappie... Turkish is decent... Emirates good... and Qatar excellent. tbh in some cases you can get decent econ experience if you book off peak/not so busy flights... might be able to get a row of free seats and some Airways eg. Qatar have not a too shabby econ service. the other important thing to ensure is to check the kind of plane you are in. in a smaller, older plane, the business class is basically not much different to econ but newer airbus ar380 or Boeing 787, it will be worth it. if flying Qatar business, choose a flight with q suite, they can allow you to link too single suites into one double bed suite. very handy with kids.

It depends on the layout. We randomly got upgraded to business class with a 5yo and a 3yo and it actually made it more stressful because the dividers meant we couldn't reach them. Added to that they kept playing with their seat adjusters and then they served them food and drink in breakable glasses and crockery, and put the lap table down to where they couldn't get out unassisted. Also if they got up and left their seat we couldn't get to them quickly. It made it more stressful for us.

Out of curiosity - do you have a favourite airline for BC?

It fly to America and the Middle East almost regularly - I like Singapore and Qatar the best, for USA flights my preference is the newer Virgin planes, or Delta. I’ve also flown Club World with BA a lot and have never had an issue with them, I like BA but I often feel
like I am in the minority with that opinion!
