To ask to go home

I'm on holiday for a week with a friend but I just want to go home. We have 2 days left. I'm so depressed I can't enjoy anything, I can't sleep so I'm exhausted. I just want to go home and be by myself. I don't know what to do.

What is it that’s made you want to go home? Are you abroad?

Thatsnotmyname223 · 09/06/2023 01:06

Not abroad. About a 7 hour drive from home. We brought my car. I want to go home because I'm miserable. I'm so so depressed that its awful trying to pretend to be happy and enjoy holiday stuff when I just want to be at home on my own.

I think given it's only two days left and presumably they'd have to leave early or be on their own then yes, yabu.

Well I expect she/he has noticed. I can’t imagine you’re both having a lovely holiday. Best talk to her/him. Be understanding if they’re disappointed.

I think if she's the good friend I think she is then she'll understand I'm struggling a lot with my mental health.

seeing as you’re almost a the end of the hols, I would let your friend enjoy the last few days and go home as planned. You can stick it out 48 hours

I would let her know you are miserable and going home a day early. They can come with you, or find their own way back. You don’t have to stay, but give them time to pack.
